Vintage Minis- What to do and what to wear!?!

Ah the time has come for vintage mini details! I am just so excited I can't even stand it! The question comes to me daily "what the heck do I wear?!?". I thought the best way to address this question would be with pictures! You should all be happy to know that I am working on a list of "what to wear" and photo tips that will be launching with the new studio! O I just can't wait..bigger and better props, tons of new backdrops, and more!! But on to the minis....

The key to a great picture is not how much you spent on an outfit but how great it looks of film (or digital film as the case may be). It's all about the layers, patterns, and textures you can add that really make an outfit pop!

Here is some inspiration...

Ties! I love them..I love them on dads, I love them on little boys, heck I just love them!

Now of course if you don't want to get one for your little man you can always just bring one of dads along!

On to my next favorite thing.. HATS! I just LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEE them!

This particular one is from gap kids but you can get them LOTS of places!
Just look how cute it is on a little boy :)

Don't be afraid to mix patterns, colors, etc!

And lastly for the little boys, if you mommas are feeling REALLY adventurous check out this awesome outfit on ebay! I think this one speaks for itself!

Now on to the little girls! ACCESSORIES! Moms I just can't stress it enough!!!!!! Hit Wal-Mart and grab yourself a plastic string of pearls! You just can't beat it!

And now to the next item on the list...HAIR accessories! The can make a picture and make an outfit! Zoe and Friends in Hendersonville has a great selection as does my favorite website http://www.etsy.com/

Tutus and petti skirts are also WONDERFUL! I will have one with me, but of course sizes vary from child to child! Once again I point you to Zoes in hendersonville..tell her I sent you and what you're looking for and they can show you something to die for! Don't have time to get out of the house? Etsy is your friend!

Don't be afraid to do something different! Nothing is cuter than a little girl in just a tu tu and a flower!

And lastly how about some diaper chic? Of course the denim diapers are always cute...and Target has taken it one step further with their new designer diapers!

They are available in boys and girls styles! So so cute! Are you a cloth diaper momma? Nothing like a ruffly cover to make an adorable look! You guys all know that I LOVE naked babies!

Now on to the props! Does your little boy have a favorite fire truck, maybe an antique airplane? Throw it in the car and bring it along! Did you have a special book when you were little that you're passing on to your little one? Maybe a tea set or a quilt? What about a favorite teddy bear?  Does your little girl love walking around in your high heels? Throw them in the trunk! All of these things would make for excellent props to help customize your images to your family! This is the time for the special heirloom dress or bubble, the big flower head band, and dads favorite tie!

Now for the boring blah blah details! Please arrive for your scheduled time 10 minutes early. Of course we will do our very best to keep everyones time, but we all know how little kids are. Sessions may run a few minutes behind but being there ready to go will help everything run smoothly! It is HOT outside so make sure to keep your little ones hydrated and have a juice cup on hand! We will be outside and we will be in a field so plan accordingly..bug spray and sunscreen are your friends!
